With refractive lens exchange (RLE) eye surgery, Dr. Kalski replaces your eye’s natural lens with an artificial one to achieve sharper focus. The same techniques and equipment used for cataract surgery are used for this procedure. RLE is indicated for patients who desire spectacle independence. Candidates include patients with early cataracts that are not yet interfering with vision, bifocal aged patients, and many patients who are not candidates for laser vision correction.
