Epi-LASIK, LASEK, and PRK are similar procedures during which a customized laser treatment is applied more superficially than with LASIK. After gentle skin removal by any of these procedures, a customized laser treatment is applied to reshape the cornea. The skin grows back within a 3 – 5 day period. These procedures provide similar results to LASIK and are indicated on people with thin corneas, dry eyes and whom otherwise may not be a candidate for LASIK.
The final visual result is equivalent to the excellence provided by LASIK.
